Digital x-rays provide a great benefit to the patient. Not only are they an excellent diagnostic tool, but they decrease radiation to the patient by over 90%.

1ST IMPRESSIONS Orthodontics uses the Planmeca Promax Panoramic/Cephalometric machine shown to the right. This is the best and most technologically advanced imaging system on the planet. This machine achieves the highest image resolution with the lowest radiation exposure of any machine available. Dr. Gibson believes that this is necessary in order to give his patients the highest quality treatment and the most safety of any machine on the market. The technology of this machine is so fast that the images appear on our 50" plasma monitor in less than a second. WOW!

The Planmeca Promax not only takes conventional two dimensional images, it has the capability to take three dimensional images as well. Three dimensional imaging is the future of dental imaging. It will allow Dr. Gibson to see a set of teeth from every angle instead of from only one angle.
